Why we built BacktestHub
Most retail traders deploy strategies on intuition, then learn what does not work with real money. Meanwhile, professional desks test every idea exhaustively before a single rupee is at risk. That gap is not about talent — it is about tools.
We set out to close it. BacktestHub gives traders a no-code strategy builder and a tick-accurate engine that models the costs which actually decide whether a strategy survives. The goal is not to promise profits — no honest tool can — but to help traders reject fragile ideas before they become expensive lessons.
Today, thousands of traders across India use BacktestHub to build, test and refine strategies every day. We are just getting started.
What we stand for
- Honesty over flattering numbers — we show realistic results, not marketing figures.
- Accessibility — powerful backtesting should not require a programming degree.
- Speed — fast iteration helps traders learn and improve quickly.
- Discipline — tools that encourage process over impulse.
- Transparency — clear pricing, clear data, clear limitations.
- Respect for risk — every result is framed honestly against market risk.
About BacktestHub — backtesting & strategy building for Indian traders
BacktestHub is a no-code backtesting and strategy-building platform built for Indian options and equity traders. Instead of writing scripts or wrestling with spreadsheets, you assemble strategies visually — adding legs, entry and exit conditions, indicators and adjustments — and test them against years of historical intraday tick data.
The backtesting engine models real-world frictions: slippage, brokerage, STT and other transaction costs. This means the win rate, Sharpe ratio, profit factor and maximum drawdown you see in a report are far closer to live performance than a naïve close-to-close simulation would produce. You can backtest index options and futures on NIFTY, BANKNIFTY and FINNIFTY, as well as equity cash and stock F&O, for both intraday and positional strategies.
Common use cases include validating option-selling strategies such as short straddles and strangles, testing iron condors and ratio spreads, optimising stop-loss and target parameters, and comparing directional setups across different market regimes. Once a strategy proves robust in backtesting, it can be promoted to paper trading or live deployment using the same configuration.
Trading and investing in securities and derivatives carry market risk. Backtested and past performance does not guarantee future returns. BacktestHub is a research and validation tool and does not provide investment advice.
